MGD1 was the chess consultant for upGrad Mumba Masters in the inaugural Global Chess League.

Global Chess League is a IPL style chess league with 6 teams.

GCL is an initiative by Anand Mahindra under Tech Mahindra.

Pro Chess League has 16 invited teams from around the world and MGD1 is one of them.

Team MGD1 clinched the silver medal in FIDE World Blitz Team Championship 2024.

The tournament featured a two stage format- a pool stage and a knockout stage.

40 teams from around the world were part of the tournament.

After a successful Rapid team event in 2023, FIDE introduced the Blitz team event in this edition.

The team is co-owned by Prachura PP, R Ashwin and Venkat K Narayana.

GM Hikaru Nakamura was the icon player for the team.

Team MGD1 Produced the Pune Leg of Women's Grand Prix 2025

The production team worked for the Official FIDE broadcast.

The tournament featured 10 top women players from across the world.

The production team was headed by MGD1 co-founder, Manu Gurtu.

The joint initiative between MGD1 and Pravaha supports rising female talents of the country.

The players will be supported for a year, with a sum amounting to INR 1 Crore.

MGD1 announced the new cohort of players to be supported by Pravaha Foundation.

This is the second batch of players to be supported under ’64 Squares’.

Team MGD1 won the FIDE World Rapid Team Championship 2025

The team scored 10 wins and 1 draw in 12 rounds across 3 days.

The tournament was scheduled from June 11 to 16th in London, UK.

This was the team's third podium finish at the event in the past three years.
